Outback Ballooning

Hot-air balloon pilot Byron Hall has been soaring above the ridges of the outback all his life.

Just like the watercolours of Albert Namatjira, an outback sunrise from aloft is like viewing a painting of pastel blues, purples and yellows.

The early start is rewarded with a silent journey across the expansive semi-arid landscape, waiting as the sun spreads its rays between desert oaks and mulga scrub. The trip ends with images of the Australia's outback crowding your mind.
