Rooms
The nine luxurious suites have been designed to take full advantage of the spectacular scenery. Floor-to-ceiling framed glass doors fold back to reveal an uninterrupted wilderness, and the ensuite bathrooms, complete with bath and indoor and outdoor showers, separate w.c and twin basins offer unmatched views over the sweeping landscape beyond. Keep cool with overhead fans and air conditioning, and enjoy a spacious thatched veranda and private plunge pool with terrace in every suite.
Dining
Delicious African-inspired meals are served on private decks, in the candlelit dining room, or in the cosy boma under a magnificent starlit sky. Rugged natural materials like rock, stone and thatch combine with soft-light lanterns, deep overstuffed sofas featuring clean contemporary lines and natural linens with plenty of texture to provide a simple but sophisticated atmosphere, inviting guests to linger and chat in friendly tranquil spaces.
Recreation
Activities from Kwandwe Great Fish River concentrate on guided walks and 4WD safaris. The latter are usually for up to six guests and take place during the morning and late afternoon/early evening – going on into night drives. There’s also the option for guided nature walks and picnics whilst for a more relaxed day, you might like to go fishing at the lovely Great Fish River, after which the lodge was named – and perhaps have a boat ride on Galpin Dam.The Kwandwe Reserve gets relatively little rainfall and partially as the result of this the natural vegetation is mainly fairly slow- and low-growing trees and shrubs. Hence it’s a reserve where any larger animals – like rhino, buffalo, elephant and giraffe – can often be spotted at quite a distance with relative ease.
