Hwange National Park is the largest game park in Zimbabwe. The park is well known for its large elephant populations. The park offers a huge diversity of both flora and fauna due to the vast size of the park. Guests can look forward to great game viewing opportunities where they can spot big game as well as smaller woodland creatures such as bushbuck, duiker, mongoose and squirrel.
amelthorn Lodge is completely unique in Hwange (and maybe Zimbabwe) for its setting and design. Unlike most safari camps and lodges, Imvelo Safaris purposely did not locate a waterhole in front of the lodge. Instead, the lodge is nestled among one Hwange's last untouched corners of real woodland wilderness, sitting on the edge of the Ngamo Plain.Small waterholes and birdfeeders attract woodland creatures such as bushbuck, duiker, mongoose and squirrel ? not to mention a plethora of colourful birdlife. Accommodation is in 8 "forest villas," built with high ceiling and stone walls to keep warm in the cold Hwange winters and cool in the hot summer months. Each has an outdoor roof deck with hammocks ideal for a siesta, private dining or star bed experience.

Game drives at Camelthorn are structured to fit you, and are conducted by licensed guides in our specialised land rovers that seat 6 guests in 3 rows. There are storage units between the seats in which to store your cameras, bird books and other valuables during game drives. On your morning game drive breaks you will be served tea, coffee and biscuits and in the afternoons, cool drinks and cooked snacks are served at sunset in front of a waterhole.
